Previously, he held a professorship in Social Geography at the University of Osnabr\u00fcck (2004) and served as a senior lecturer at the Department of Geography at Gutenberg University Mainz (2003). <\/p>\n\n<p>He earned his doctorate at Gutenberg University Mainz in 1998 with a dissertation on retail in Poland and habilitated in 2003 with the work on transculturality as practice. He studied Geography with a focus on Urban Planning and Social History at the University of Cologne, where he obtained his diploma in 1993. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Research focus<\/h2>\n\n<p>Robert P\u00fctz specializes in socio-economic metropolitan research and the geographies of human-animal relationships.
