Sigrun Langner"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Short CV<\/h2>\n\n<p>Sigrun Langner is Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the Bauhaus-Universit\u00e4t Weimar since 2022. She was appointed Professor of Landscape Architecture and Landscape Planning in 2019. <\/p>\n\n<p>Previously, she was a Junior Professor at the same institution from 2013 to 2019 and worked as a Research Associate at Leibniz University Hannover and TU Berlin. Her doctorate, completed in 2012 at Leibniz University Hannover, explored \u201cNavigating Urban Landscapes \u2013 Designing Cartography as a Navigation Strategy.\u201d <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Research focus<\/h2>\n\n<p>Sigrun Langner specializes in intersectional landscape architecture and urban development, with a particular focus on the dynamic relationships between urban and rural spaces, referred to as \u201crurban landscapes.\u201d She investigates the transformation of rural areas under urbanization pressures, develops sustainable planning concepts integrating ecological and social perspectives, and emphasizes mapping as a method for understanding complex spatial relationships. Her research also critically examines how rural imaginaries are addressed in urban and landscape planning.     <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Recent projects<\/h2>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>V-Act: Netzwerkstatt Vogtland (2023\u20132025, funded by BMBF, WIR!-B\u00fcndnis \u201cVogtlandpioniere\u201d, project lead) \u2013 This project explores formats for activating and interconnecting an industrial cultural landscape in Vogtland, developing sustainable regional development strategies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Zukunftsindex Heimat und Baukultur 2025 (2020\u20132023, funded by BMBF, co-applicant) \u2013 Investigating the perception of industrial cultural heritage in Vogtland, this project contributes to the broader WIR!-B\u00fcndnis initiative \u201cVogtlandpioniere.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni-weimar.de\/de\/architektur-und-urbanistik\/professuren\/landschaftsarchitektur-und-planung\/forschung\/forschungsfeld-rurbane-landschaften\/projekt-ura\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.uni-weimar.de\/de\/architektur-und-urbanistik\/professuren\/landschaftsarchitektur-und-planung\/forschung\/forschungsfeld-rurbane-landschaften\/projekt-ura\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Urban-Rural Assembly<\/a> (URA) (2018\u20132024, funded by BMBF, co-applicant, TP4 leader and co-lead TP7) \u2013 Focusing on the transformation of urban-rural economies, this project examines the impact of urbanization processes on surrounding rural areas, particularly in the Huangyan-Taizhou region, China.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Short CV Sigrun Langner is Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the Bauhaus-Universit\u00e4t Weimar since 2022.
