Recent projects

Dissertation project (ongoing) on housing practices in stigmatized large housing estates. As socially embedded and rule-guided contexts of action, housing practices structure how people live and have an impact on social integration. These practices are not only related to the political-economic framework. They have to be analyzed in the context of the specific materiality of large housing estates. The projects focus is placed on practices in the shared spaces – i.e. playgrounds, green spaces, entrance areas, corridors, etc. Two housing estates will be examined using an ethnographically inspired approach based on Grounded Theory, with the main material being interviews with residents and experts as well as field memos.
